HOSPITALITY TEAM

One of the best opportunities to meet folks at WRUMC is to serve on our hospitality team. This team greets our guests on Sunday mornings and helps ensure every feels welcome at WRUMC. If you are interested in serving, email Linda. 

WHITE ROCK GARDEN OF HOPE

Join us on the first Saturday of every month from 8–10 AM to lend a hand in the garden! We’ll be working in the garden behind the church—just meet us there and jump in! Email Jerry to learn more.

AUDIO VISUAL TEAM

Like working behind the scenes? We need volunteers to help run sound, slides, and video Sunday mornings.

AT OWENWOOD

The Owenwood Farm and Neighbor Space is a collective of nonprofits and do-gooders who are organizing around the talents, skills, and passions of those who live in Far East Dallas. WRUMC considers Owenwood one of the best ways we can serve our community.

DIAPER DISTRIBUTION

Diapers Etc. exists to provide baby, youth, & adult diapers, feminine hygiene products, and other important goods not covered by government programs or other service providers. On distribution days, volunteers from the community come together to give out over ten thousand diapers to our neighbors, making connections and friends along the way.
*Distribution the last Saturday of every month.*P
Volunteers appreciated from 8:00 AM-Noon.

FOOD DISTRIBUTION

Our community is living in a food desert and we strive to help and advocate for our families' need for fresh foods! Owenwood’s monthly food distribution gives out over fifteen thousand pounds of food with the help of community volunteers.
*Distribution very 2nd Saturday of the month*

URBAN FARM AND COMMUNITY GARDEN

Our Owenwood campus is home to an urban farm managed by GROW North Texas that provides an opportunity for our neighbors to grow fresh produce, build community, and serve families in Far East Dallas.
Beds are rentable at $50/year. Volunteers are welcome the 2nd Saturday of the month, starting at 9am. Folks will be working with dirt, removing weeds, mulch, etc.

WHITE ROCK FRIENDS

White Rock Friends is a ministry of White Rock Community Church. WRCC is a community partner at Owenwood. This ministry cares for people who are living with HIV/AIDS by serving monthly meals, distributing cleaning supplies & personal care products, and encourage clients. Email Rev. Todd Bacon, WRCC’s Pastor, if you are interested in volunteering.

BOOK BUDDIES @ SANGER ELEMENTARY

Read to and with elementary students—may include reading enrichment time and teaching students to read.  
School provides training for this role and curriculum materials.
